On Sunday, October 7, 2018, at approximately 11:02 PM, the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call from the 6400 block of Tranters Creek Way saying multiple shots were fired and a male party was lying on the sidewalk.

Multiple units responded and discovered the male party unconscious and not breathing.  Deputies started life saving efforts until medical personnel arrived. Once on scene, medical attempted to revive the victim however, they were unsuccessful, and the victim succumbed to his injuries.

On Thursday, October11, 2018, at approximately 2:00 AM, Tyler Lee Wheeler, DOB: 08/13/98 was booked into the Criminal Justice Center on the charge of First Degree Murder.  He is being held without bond.

The identity of the victim will not be released until positive identification has been made by the Coroner's Office and the next of kin has been notified.
