Barricaded Suspect Taken Into Custody Without Incident

Sep 17, 2018 - 2:41pm

On September 17, 2018, at approximately 2:48 PM, Deputies along with a K9 team attempted to contact Amy Weeks, DOB 05/22/87, at an address in the 2300 block of Klein Place.  Ms. Weeks was wanted on several warrants, including a Sheriff’s Office Domestic Violence Summons that listed her as “Armed and Dangerous”.  The domestic violence incident involved unlawfully discharging a firearm.

The victim of the domestic violence case was on scene and was contacted by phone.  He exited the residence without incident.  Ms. Weeks was determined to be the only person inside the home.  She attempted to flee through a back-side door but barricaded herself back inside when she encountered law enforcement.  Numerous attempts to encourage her to surrender, including phone calls and verbal announcements, were unsuccessful.

The Sheriff’s Office SWAT was activated and responded to the scene.  At approximately 7:00 PM, Ms. Weeks exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident. Ms. Weeks was transported to the Criminal Justice Center Jail and booked in on outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants.

A mug shot of Ms. Weeks is attached to this Media Release.
