During the week of August 3to August 9, 2024, law enforcement partners nationwide participate in National Night Out.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign promoting police-community partnerships and camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer and more engaging places to live. These events greatly enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while fostering a sense of community.
Throughout El Paso County, neighborhoods hosted block parties, cookouts, and other community events, including safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, emergency personnel visits, exhibits, and more.
During the week-long celebration, Sheriff Joseph Roybal and members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, professional and sworn, will attend events at ten locations, including Monument, Midway, Peyton, Falcon, Black Forest, and other neighborhoods in unincorporated El Paso County.
Sheriff Roybal issued the following statement:
“Celebrating National Night Out is an occasion we look forward to at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. These events represent an opportunity to build on what members of my Office focus on year-round: establishing positive relationships with the citizens we serve and working together to eliminate crime and reduce victims.
“National Night Out helps us grow meaningful relationships with families and businesses across El Paso County. I thank the various neighborhood watch groups who graciously host my Office for this event and for working year-round on projects and educational events, helping keep El Paso County safe and a desirable place to live.
“I speak for my entire Office when I say we love and are grateful for the community we serve.”
