On Friday, September 9, 2016, at approximately 1:30 AM, Deputies were dispatched to the 4800 block of Daredevil Drive regarding a possible domestic situation.  Deputies contacted a male party at his residence and determined there were no crimes that had been committed.

While Deputies were at the residence the male party complained about juveniles at Barnstormers Park. Deputies then made contact with the individuals at the park, which is approximately 50 yards from the home. The Deputies were still in contact with individuals at the park, when they heard a fire alarm coming from that same residence on Daredevil Drive and saw smoke coming from the home.  They then heard a loud pop from the area of the residence. Deputies notified Dispatch and the Security Fire Department was dispatched.

A deceased male was found in the foyer of the home.  He has been identified at Christopher Peterson, DOB: 04/30/80.  The cause and manner of death are pending toxicology results and will be released by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
