On September 22, 2021, at approximately 6:24 PM, we received a 911 call in reference to a body found in Section 16 trailhead on Gold Camp Road located in unincorporated El Paso County. 

Deputies responded and after a very long hike up an arduous trail, they eventually located the body of a deceased adult male. 

The body was subsequently recovered by members of the Colorado Springs Fire Department and members of the El Paso County Search and Rescue. 

Preliminary investigation revealed nothing suspicious surrounding the incident. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the El Paso County Coroner's Office.

The man has been identified as 56 year-old, Martin Camarata.
