On Monday, March 7, 2016, at approximately 2:30 AM, El Paso County Search and Rescue was notified of two missing juveniles. At 6:30 AM, they were able to locate the jeep the juveniles were riding in on Forest Service Road 315, just half a mile south of Mt. Herman Road. The juveniles were subsequently found at approximately 9:37 AM, half a mile from where the jeep was located near the Beaver Creek Drainage Area. The juveniles were safe with minor cuts and bruises. The juveniles have since been reunited with their parents.
The El Paso County Search and Rescue is prepared to respond to these types of missions. They have access to special equipment such as four wheel drives, large snowcats, all terrain vehicles, etc., to maneuver through difficult terrain. They bring extra food, blankets, clothing and fluids for those they rescue. We would like to thank them for their assistance in locating the juveniles safe and unharmed.
