On July 28, 2019 at approximately 12:30 AM, deputies responded to a report of shots fired at an address in the 10500 block of Ute Pass Avenue in Green Mountain Falls. Upon arrival, deputies learned there was a house party attended by a large group of people. During the party two groups of unknown individuals had an altercation and one group left the party. The group that left the party returned and fired shots in the direction of the house. An unknown person in the area of the home returned fire in the direction of the original shooters.
A neighborhood canvas was conducted and witnesses were interviewed. Deputies located areas that bullets struck the home and other structures in the area. Deputies did not locate any gunshot victims.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office, at the request of the Green Mountain Falls Police Department, is the lead investigative agency. We have no reason to believe that there is any threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should contact the El Paso County Sheriff's Office at 719-390-5555.
