On July 26, 2021, at approximately 4:20 PM, our Communications Center received a call from a family member reporting, 82-year-old, Frances Vialpando as missing from the 13000 block of West Ravine Drive. Information gathered indicated Ms. Vialpando as a missing and endangered adult.
Several deputies responded to the area in an attempt to locate Ms. Vialpando.
Personnel from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue were notified and responded. Local hospitals were contacted which met with negative results. In addition, a Silver Alert was initiated through CBI, an Everbridge (public safety notification), and social media messaging were sent out. Numerous tips were received by citizens, but nothing resulted in locating Ms. Vialpando even after updated Everbridge notifications were sent out on her attire.
At approximately 8:19 PM, Search and Rescue members found a female matching Ms. Vialpando’s description in the front passenger seat, slumped over in the 13000 Black Forest Road.
Medical personnel arrived within seconds, and immediately began lifesaving measures. Family members of Ms. Vialpando arrived on scene as well, and positively identified her. She was subsequently pronounced deceased.
Preliminary investigation does not indicate any signs of trauma; however the cause and manner of death will be determined by the El Paso County Coroner's Office.
