On Sunday, October 21, 2018, deputies were dispatched to the 1500 block of Hartford Street in reference to a shooting.  When deputies arrived on scene they were flagged down by the parents of the two-year-old.  The mother had the child in her arms.  Life saving measures were initiated and the child was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives arrived on scene and through the course of their investigation and processing the scene, the tragic death is not being considered a homicide.

On Tuesday, October 30, 2018, Melissa Adamson, DOB: 06/27/86, was booked into the Criminal Justice Center Jail on the charge of Child Abuse Resulting in Death.
