On or between 9/20/2015 and 10/23/2015, an unknown suspect(s) fired a single high powered rifle round at Turbine #35 in the Golden West Wind Energy Center in Calhan, Colorado.  Turbine #35 is located near the intersection of North Yoder Road and Heaston Road.  The damage to the turbine is estimated between $20,000 and $250,000 depending on the severity of damage.

The Golden West Energy Center has been at the center of controversy with some citizens who were opposed to the project.
