This week, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office participated in a 5k Law Enforcement Torch Run and Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics Colorado. El Paso County Sheriff's Office participants, sworn and professional staff, jumped into the freezing cold water, with the goal of raising funds for the Special Olympics. This event featured multiple agencies in the Pikes Peak region and was hosted at the Rock Ledge Ranch historic site in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
"Thank you to those who participated from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office and for consistently showing up for our community,” said El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “Whether it be the Polar Plunge, the Torch Run, Tip-A-Cop, or the various other events we participate in to support our local Special Olympics Athletes. I am incredibly proud of our Office's generosity and enthusiasm for these events.”
For this event, our Office raised $4,174 in support of local athletes.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is helping to raffle off a new, 2023 Ford Bronco to raise funds for Special Olympics of Colorado athletes.
From Wednesday April 24th, to Friday, April 26th, the Special Olympics Ford Bronco will be parked outside the Office of the Sheriff, in downtown Colorado Springs. We invite the citizens of El Paso County to stop by, scan the QR code, and take a selfie with the Bronco.
