On Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at approximately 7:00 PM, the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired at the Marquette Heights Apartments, in the 500 block of Security Blvd in Security.

When Deputies arrived on scene, they found a male deceased with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim has been identified as Oscar Martinez, DOB: 12/14/73.  The manner of death has been ruled a homicide by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.  The cause of death is multiple gunshot wounds.  

We do not feel there is any threat to the community at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
