On Thursday, July 25, 2019, at approximately 9:45 PM, a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop with a gray Nissan truck, near the intersection of Main Street and Hancock Expressway. The driver failed to yield and accelerated at a high rate of speed. The deputy did not pursue the vehicle. A short time late, the vehicle was found abandoned and unoccupied on Cresta Loma Circle.
Containment of the area was set up immediately with the assistance of local law enforcement. A notification was sent out to citizens advising them of law enforcement presence in the vicinity and asking them to say inside their homes. A thorough search of the area was conducted to locate the occupants of the vehicle with negative results.
The Sheriff’s Office is looking for Zackary Burns, DOB: 01/25/91, in connection to this incident. He is described as a 28-year-old White male, 6’01, 170lbs, brown hair, blue eyes, unknown clothing description. Burns is wanted on several outstanding warrants for Robbery and Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. He is possibly with an unknown age White female, 5’06, 122lbs, blonde hair, blue eyes, unknown clothing description. Burns is considered Armed and Dangerous.
