El Paso County Sheriff and Fire Warden Joseph Roybal issued the following statement, rescinding Stage I Fire Restrictions for all unincorporated areas of El Paso County:

“I am pleased to announce, following a comprehensive assessment of fuel conditions and available resources across the Front Range of Colorado, I am lifting Stage I fire restrictions, effective today, August 9th, at 12:00 P.M.

“I appreciate the community’s cooperation and diligence in adhering to the previous restrictions, which were crucial in protecting and preventing wildfires in the Pikes Peak region.

“While the formal restrictions have been lifted, I encourage citizens and visitors to continue cautiously with open flames and other fire-related activities. This will ensure the ongoing safety and protection of the place we call home, El Paso County.”
