The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications for the Spring 2024 Citizens Academy.

The five-week course will begin on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, and will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for about three hours, starting at 5:30 pm. Participants will get an overview and insight into the various functions of the Sheriff’s Office. They will have the opportunity to go on a ride-along with patrol deputies and receive a tour of the Jail to better understand the environment facing our staff and the hard work they put in.

Topics covered include: Investigations, Patrol functions, Courthouse, Wildland Fire, Training, and more!

This Academy is offered at no cost to participants.  Applicants must pass a standard background check, and attendance will be limited to 40 people.  The deadline for applications is March 10, 2024.
