The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Wildland Fire Crew is seeking active, enthusiastic citizens to join one of the best Wildland fire crews in the state of Colorado. Our volunteers proudly protect citizens, their homes, and businesses located in the grass and forest wild lands within our diverse county. As part of our team, you will work hard, participate in our numerous activities and opportunities, and form friendships that will last a lifetime. Join our team of dedicated firefighters to help us help your neighbor.
El Paso County Search and Rescue is looking for volunteers for the Winter Academy scheduled to begin in mid-February 2017. This group of citizen volunteers is dedicated to saving lives through search, rescue, and mountain safety education. If you would like to combine your love for the outdoors with the gift of service to others, this just might be the opportunity you’re looking for. The Sheriff’s Citizen Patrol is currently recruiting for volunteers for their spring 2017 Training Academy. The Citizen Patrol is composed of citizen volunteers who support the office, and specifically the Patrol Section, by performing duties not required by a sworn officer. The members of the Citizen Patrol provide help to stranded motorists, traffic control at accident or emergency scenes, conduct vacation checks, and assist deputies with impounding abandoned vehicles, in addition to many other responsibilities.
