Sheriff's Office Arrests Man Armed with Machete
On February 25, 2022, at around 1:47 a.m., the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call from a residence located in the 800 block of Meadow Lane in Palmer Lake reporting a stabbing. The reporting party said the neighbor broke into their house and attacked them with a knife.
A Palmer Lake Police Department officer and an El Paso County Sheriff's Office deputy responded to the address.
Upon their arrival, they contacted a male suspect armed with a machete. The suspect was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
The homeowners received immediate medical attention. One of the victims was transported to a local hospital for multiple injuries and has since been released. The other victim sustained serious injuries and is in stable condition.
The suspect has been identified as Adam Gerak, date of birth: 09/28/1984. He has been booked into the El Paso County Jail on the following charges:
2 counts of Attempted Murder,
1st Degree Burglary,
1st Degree Assault,
2nd Degree Assault, and Felony Menacing along with other charges.
