On April 3, 2020, at approximately 12:20 AM, our Communications Center dispatched deputies to a burglary in progress in the 9800 block of Fairway Glen Drive.
The reporting party installed a surveillance camera due to the numerous new build construction burglaries in the area. They reported two suspects were inside their new home construction.
Deputies responded and the two suspects fled on foot. The suspects were identified as Melissa Estrada (DOB: 04/04/1982) and Davi Figueroa (DOB: 08/23/1985).
Estrada was found later that day by deputies and booked into the El Paso County Jail on the following charges:
2nd Degree Burglary, Residence, Dwelling, or Controlled Substance, and
Theft under $500.
Figueroa was not located until April 10, hiding in a residence in the Cimarron Hills area. He was also booked into the El Paso County Jail on the following charges:
2nd Degree Burglary, Business or Building, (2 counts)
Criminal Mischief, 1K to Less Than 5K, and
Theft over $750 Less Than 2K.
Since January there have been 24 reported construction burglaries reported to the Sheriff’s Office, four of which were in this area. Due to these being linked to a pattern of construction burglaries the Sheriff's Office Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) began investigating.
Attached to this press release are mug shots for Estrada and Figueroa.
