On Sunday, April 15, 2018, at approximately 1:06 PM, a structure fire was reported at a residence in the 23800 block of Blue Roan Circle.  Members of the Calhan Fire Department responded and, while extinguishing the fire, discovered a deceased individual inside the residence. 

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Fire Investigator and On Call Detective responded to the scene and will conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the cause of the fire. 

The identity of the deceased individual will not be released until positive identification has been made by the Coroner’s Office.

This is an active investigation and further information will be released as the investigation allows.
