On February 19, 2024, at 3:22 a.m., the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a shooting had occurred in the 6100 block of Pemmican Point, in unincorporated El Paso County.
Two adults had been shot and were transported away from the scene and met with responders from the Sheriff’s Office, Fountain Police Department, and the Fountain Fire Department near the Pikes Peak International Raceway. In spite of live-saving efforts, one victim passed away from their injuries. The other was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated.
Deputies and officers responded to the address. Because of the amount of debris and storage at the property, tactical resources were utilized to search the scene and the suspect was located at an adjacent property. The Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division has taken over the case.
The identities of those involved will not be released at this time but all are adults.
The investigation is active and ongoing and there is no threat to the community.
