The body of a deceased adult female was located on October 9, 2021, off Highway 83 and North Pinery Parkway, in Douglas County. The woman has preliminarily been identified by our detectives as a woman from an El Paso County Case. 

The body was subsequently recovered by members of the Douglas County Search and Rescue. Members of the Douglas County Coroner’s Office responded and took possession of the body in order to perform a formal autopsy to determine an official cause of death and will notify the next of kin. The identity of the woman will not be released until next of kin notifications are completed by the Douglas County Coroner's Office.  

This case will be investigated by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit. There is no known threat to the community associated with this case.
