On Saturday, September 12, 2020, at approximately 10:52 AM, the Sheriff's Office Communications Center received a call indicating a shooting occurred in the 1600 block of Maxwell Street.  When deputies arrived on scene, they found a deceased female. The investigation revealed that during the incident, at least one shot had been fired at a second victim.

The suspect was still on scene when deputies arrived and has been identified as Rhaiyanna Earley DOB: 05/21/62.  She was taken into custody and has been booked into the El Paso County Jail on the charges of Murder in the First Degree and Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.

The identity of the victim will not be released until the Coroner has made positive identification and the next of kin have been notified.

This is the ninth homicide in Unincorporated El Paso County in 2020.  This time last year, there were four.
