On May 24, 2020, at approximately 1:31 AM, deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of Harvard Street, regarding a domestic dispute.
 
When deputies arrived on scene, a gun-shot victim was located inside the residence. A deputy began life-saving measures on the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. 
 
The suspect, Valerie Coes (DOB: 08/17/1969), was arrested on scene then booked into the El Paso County Jail on the following charges:

Murder in the Second Degree (Criminal Attempt),
Assault in the First Degree, and
Felony Menacing, a class 5 Felony.

This is an active investigation, information will be released as the investigation allows.
