On March 8, 2015, at approximately 11:30 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the Shots Tavern, located at 1831 Main Street for a fight involving a gun. As deputies were responding, they were advised there had been shots fired.
Upon speaking with employees and patrons of the bar it was revealed there had been a physical altercation between two individuals. During the altercation one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and "pistol whipped" one of the patrons. Then there were several rounds fired into the bar. An employee was able to provide deputies with a credit card from one of the suspects involved who had left prior to deputies arrival.
Our Dispatch was able to find a local vehicle registration for the individual. The vehicle, a gold/tan SUV matched the description given by witnesses at the park. Deputies in the area were able to locate the vehicle and the two suspects. Inside the SUV blood was found on the front passenger seat and door. One of the suspects was found to have injuries on his hand and wrist consistent with a fight. Both suspects were detained and identified by an employee of the bar. Upon interviews with the suspects, both confessed of their involvement to "pistol whipping" a patron and shooting rounds into the bar.
Olufemi Gbenga Adegbesan was booked into the Criminal Justice Center on Attempted 1st Degree Murder (F-2) and Felony Menacing (F-5). Willie Brian Jones-Walker was booked in to the Criminal Justice Center on charges of Attempted 1st Degree Murder (F-2), Feloney Menacing (F-5) and Illegal Use of a Firearm (F-5).
