El Paso County Sheriff's Office Investigates Shooting on Hampton South

This morning, December 28, 2021, just after midnight, deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 1600 block of Hampton South in reference to the shots fired call.

Upon arrival, deputies found an individual with a gunshot wound. The person was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and their condition was unknown at the time of this release.

While on scene, deputies contacted another individual who, it was later determined, had an unrelated warrant for their arrest. The second individual was taken into custody on the arrest warrant. The investigation is currently ongoing.

At this time, all parties involved in the incident are accounted for, and there does not appear to be an ongoing threat to the community.

Detectives from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office are conducting the investigation.
