On Thursday, April 30, 2015, and Friday, May 1, 2015, the Sheriff’s Office is participating in a Multi-Jurisdictional Search effort to locate a missing person. Timothy Lee Copley was last seen on June 20, 2014. This case was handled by a volunteer who kept an ongoing dialogue with the family since Mr. Copley went missing.
When the new Administration took over in January of 2015, an audit was ordered of the missing persons and runaway cases. At the time there were approximately 26 missing persons and runaways, with some dating back to 1982. A Detective was assigned to the case of Mr. Copley’s whereabouts and as a course of this investigation and with the family’s approval we coordinated a Multi-Jurisdictional Search effort. As a part of this effort a Search Warrant was issued for the residence of Mr. Copley. Upon entry to the home Detectives found a deceased female. We do not suspect foul play and the Metro Crime Lab was called out as a matter of procedure. We will not be releasing the identity of the female pending results of the autopsy and notification of next of kin.
Photos of Mr. Copley are attached to this release. If you have any information regarding Mr. Copley or his possible whereabouts, please contact Detective Scott Mackey at 719-520-7291.
