Sheriff's Office Provides Investigative Update into Officer Involved Shooting 

On Saturday, August 3, 2019 , the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office assumed the investigation into an officer involved shooting by the Colorado Springs Police Department.   In accordance with Senate Bill 15-219, the Sheriff’s Office operates as an independent investigative agency to provide a fair and impartial examination of the facts as it relates to Peace Officer Involved Incidents.  

The Sheriff’s Office is nearing the conclusion of its initial stages of the investigation and anticipates turning over the investigative findings to the Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office by the end of next week.   Anyone with any additional information as it pertains to this investigation is urged to call the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Tip Line 719-520-6666.
