As was previously reported, on Sunday, November, 20, 2022, at 6:45PM, officers with the Fountain Police Department responded to a reported Domestic Violence incident at a home in the 6900 block of Village Meadows Drive in the City of Fountain, Colorado. An adult female reported to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center her husband was on scene, was intoxicated, and wouldn’t let her leave the home with their son. She said she managed to escape the home to a neighbor and call 911. She said her son was still inside the residence with the suspect.
Shortly after officers arrived on scene, an adult male emerged from the residence and fired at least one round from a firearm at responding officers. At least one officer returned fire with at least one round, striking the suspect at least one time. No officers were injured. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment for his injuries.
The suspect is identified as Ross Milton Floursheim, DOB: 10-15-1981. He is currently in the custody of the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, and his booking photo will be released when it becomes available.
In accordance with Colorado Revised Statute 16-2.5-301, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office is the lead investigative agency for this officer-involved shooting. This is an ongoing investigation and information will be released as appropriate; no other information is available at this time.
