On June 10, 2021, at approximately 6:23 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 3400 block of West Colorado Avenue, in unincorporated El Paso County, in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male victim in the parking lot with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.  He was provided emergency medical care on scene and subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.  In an ensuing investigation, EPSO detectives determined this was an isolated incident and identified a potential suspect.

Today, June 16, 2021, this suspect, identified as Jonathan Dykas, DOB: 06/21/86, was arrested without incident as a result of a joint operation by members of the Regional Fugitives Unit (RFU), the EPSO Tactical Support Unit (TSU), and the EPSO K9 Unit.  The United States Secret Service provided invaluable support and assistance in locating the suspect.
