On Thursday, August 25, 2016, deputies responded to the 8200 block of Fort Smith Road in Falcon, regarding a call to assist an outside agency.  During the course of our investigation we learned the victim's wife came home and found her husband laying on the floor covered in blood.  Fire and Medical units responded and CPR was performed without success. 

The victim has been identified as David Stechman, who was 56 years of age.  The manner of death has been ruled a homicide by the El Paso County Coroner's Office.  There is no evidence to indicate there is any kind of threat to the community.

This makes the fourth homicide in Unincorporated El Paso County in 2016.
