Two Arrested in Connection With Business Burglaries

May 29, 2024 - 3:00pm

On May 8, 2024, deputies investigated a string of business burglaries in the 6000 block of Bismark Road in unincorporated El Paso County.

While investigating the burglaries, one of the businesses was notified that someone was trying to cash a check stolen from their business. Deputies responded to the bank and contacted 49-year-old Kerry Sherow. Interviews and further investigation led deputies to identify the burglary suspect as 44-year-old Franklin Alexander.

Deputies conducted a search warrant at Alexander’s house and recovered items related to the Bismark Road burglaries, as well as other burglaries within the jurisdiction of the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Currently, there is evidence connecting Alexander to at least 10 other burglaries in El Paso County.

Alexander is being held at the El Paso County Jail on a $25,000 bond for burglary. Kerry Sherow is being held on a $2,000 bond for identity theft.

“I am committed to reducing crime in our community and ensuring those individuals who choose to victimize our citizens and violate their sense of security face justice for their actions,” said Sheriff Joseph Roybal.

We would like to thank the Colorado Springs Police Department and the Colorado Department of Corrections Parole Unit for their assistance during this investigation.
