On June 22, 2020, at approximately 5:35 AM, Deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Easy Street for a report of a burglary in progress. The reporting party stated he had observed, through his security cameras, two males enter the detached garage carrying a large duffle bag and a crowbar. As deputies arrived on scene, they quickly developed a perimeter around the property. Loud verbal commands were given for the parties to exit the detached garage.

A male party, later identified as James E. Clarke (DOB: 04/15/71), exited the detached garaged and was placed into custody. A second male later identified as Jason R. Flynn (DOB: 09/14/76) exited the detached garage and began running in an attempt to flee. Deputies were able to quickly detain him with no injuries. 

During the search of their persons and the detached garage, a black duffle bag was located. Within the duffle bag were three firearms, one in which was reported stolen. All three guns were sized and placed into the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Evidence Facility. Along with the weapons, 12 grams of methamphetamine was also seized.

Flynn was booked into the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Jail Criminal Justice Center for the following charges:
Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender (ATF Warrant), Burglary (Warrant), Special Offender, 2nd Degree Burglary, Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender, Possession of Burglary Tools, Theft, Criminal Trespass, Attempt to Influence, False Report, Conspiracy, Drug Paraphernalia, Schedule II. 

Clarke was booked into the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Jail Criminal Justice Center for the following charges: 2nd Degree Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Theft, Criminal Trespass, Conspiracy, Drug Paraphernalia, Scheduled II.
