On November 29, 2015, at approximately 4:11 AM, the Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a call reference a shooting resulting from a family disturbance. The reporting party stated the suspect shot his father in the head.
Counting the suspect there were five adults in the residence. All persons, except for the suspect were evacuated safely from the residence and the father was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Everbridge (Reverse 911) system was activated for the local residents. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Regional SWAT team was called out to the scene to assist with the situation. Contact with the suspect was initiated and at approximately 7:19 AM, he surrendered without incident.
The suspect has been identified as Clifford Bishop, DOB: 03/05/69. He has been transported to the Criminal Justice Center and booked in on the following charges: Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Felony Menacing and Illegal Use of a Firearm.
