On Monday, December 12, 2016, at approximately 7:27 PM, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to a medical life alert call in the 3400 block of W. Colorado Avenue.  When deputies arrived on scene, they found a victim, Michael Dorland DOB: 12/13/58, who had sustained multiple injuries from an apparent assault. 

Mr. Dorland was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.  Approximately 2 weeks later, the victim succumbed to complications related to his injuries.  A suspect has been identified in the case.  The investigation is ongoing.  Further information will be released as it becomes available.
