On December 19, 2022, at around 9:54 a.m., the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received a transferred 911 call. The caller indicated a man was shooting within a home located in the 9800 block of Rubicon Drive. The caller heard multiple shots being fired.

On December 14, 2022, at around 6:39 a.m., a deputy with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic crash on East Las Vegas Street. Tragically, the pedestrian did not survive. The deputy was not injured.
