On December 31, 2023, deputies received information of the potential presence of Fentanyl at the El Paso County Jail.  Deputies located and recovered the drugs before it could be ingested.  El Paso County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded and continued the investigation.

On May 8, 2024, deputies investigated a string of business burglaries in the 6000 block of Bismark Road in unincorporated El Paso County.

At approximately 7:33 p.m., a 911 call came into the El Paso County regional communications center where the reporting party stated there had been shots fired in a residence in the 10000 block of Abrams Drive in Lorson Ranch.

On May 21, 2024, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division and CSPD TEU arrested 40-year-old Adam Turner on multiple felony charges related to a year-long mail theft operation which impacted the Meridian Ranch and Woodmen Hills neighborhoods in El Paso County.

As the lead investigating agency, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office provides the following additional information to the original media release from the Colorado Springs Police Department:

On May 16, 2024, at about 9:07 a.m., the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check request in the 500 block of Cottonwood Dr. in unincorporated El Paso County. Upon arrival, deputies located two deceased adults, one male and one female.
