Sheriff’s Office Investigates Homicide on Dove Creek Circle

At approximately 1:00 a.m. today, the El Paso County Regional Communication Center received a 9-1-1 call reporting a shooting at a residence in the 7000 block of Dove Creek Circle, located in the Widefield neighborhood of unincorporated El Paso County. The caller indicated one individual at the home had been shot.

Deputies arrived on the scene and discovered three individuals who appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds. They immediately began rendering medical aid until additional medical personnel with the Security Fire Department arrived.

Two of the individuals were transported by Security Fire Department to local hospitals, where they are currently receiving care. Unfortunately, the third individual died at the scene. The identities of all parties involved have not yet been confirmed.

Another individual arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound, we are investigating to determine if this individual is involved in this investigation.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division has taken the lead in this homicide investigation.
EPSO Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians from the Metro Crime Lab will remain on scene for several hours to gather and collect evidence.

Based on preliminary information, this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding community.
