Sheriff Roybal’s Statement After U.S. Army Soldier Charged by Federal Law Enforcement Partners

Yesterday, the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado announced the arrest of U.S. Army soldier Juan Gabriel Orona-Rodriguez. Orona-Rodriguez faces federal charges for one count each of distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Orona-Rodriguez served in a leadership position for Immortal Security LLC. This business provides armed security at “nightclubs,” including an after-hours, unlawful nightclub called Warike in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Warike was the site of a federal search warrant executed by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on April 27, 2025. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office assisted the DEA and a multitude of federal agencies during this operation, removing dangerous, violent criminals from the streets of the Pikes Peak region.

“As details from this past weekend’s operation come to light, I am confident they will demonstrate to the community the severity of the crimes being committed and the necessity for law enforcement to act,” said El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “Sunday’s operation was necessary to ensure the safety of our citizens and eliminate dangerous drug dealers, violent criminals, and sex traffickers from our streets.

“I thank those who have reached out to my Office with their words of support and encouragement and remain committed to my Office’s mission- of ensuring safety for everyone who calls the Pikes Peak region home.”
