Suspect Arrested Following Interstate Road Rage Incident

On October 11, 2025, at approximately 7:33 PM, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Communications Center received a call from an individual who reported being shot at while driving northbound on Interstate 25 in northern El Paso County. The victim provided a detailed description of the suspect vehicle, including the license plate, as the suspect was leaving El Paso County, crossing into Douglas County.

Officers with the Castle Rock Police Department located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop, and detained the driver, identified as 60-year-old Allen Casias. During the stop, officers discovered a pistol on Casias’ person.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Patrol deputies responded to Castle Rock and interviewed Casias, who admitted to brandishing a pistol during the road rage incident.

Casias was taken into custody and transported to the El Paso County Jail, where he was booked on one count of felony menacing. He is being held on a $2,000 bond.

El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal stated, “There is absolutely no excuse for road rage. It endangers innocent lives. Brandishing or discharging a firearm on our roadways is an act of recklessness that will be met with zero tolerance. I commend our deputies and the Castle Rock Police Department for their quick coordination in ensuring this violent and irresponsible behavior was stopped before anyone was seriously harmed.”
