On November 1, 2025, at approximately 2:20 AM, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Communications Center received a 911 call from a residence in the 500 block of Norman Drive in the Security-Widefield area of unincorporated El Paso County.
During the call, a person could be heard screaming for help as a violent disturbance occurred in the background.
El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Patrol deputies responded immediately, and upon arrival, an individual opened the front door and told deputies the suspect was “beating” the victim in the bathroom.
Deputies entered the residence, forced entry into a room with a locked door, and observed an adult male inside the bathroom and a victim with visible head injuries.
The suspect, 42-year-old Sean Tierney, was removed from the area, and when deputies attempted to detain him, Tierney became combative and resisted arrest. After a brief struggle, he was taken into custody without further incident.
The victim sustained significant injuries to their head and upper body. Medical personnel from the Security Fire Department responded to the scene and transported them to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Sean Tierney was transported to the El Paso County Jail and booked on the following charges:
- Attempted Second-Degree Murder
 - Second-Degree Assault
 - Domestic Violence
 - Resisting Arrest

He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
“This incident was a cruel and senseless act of domestic violence,” said El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “I am grateful for the swift and courageous response of our deputies who acted decisively to stop the assault and ensure the victim received immediate medical care. Domestic violence has no place in our community, and we will continue to pursue justice for victims and hold offenders accountable.”
