Sheriff’s Office Locates Missing and Endangered Children from Oklahoma

On November 2, 2025, at approximately 4:56 a.m., 30-year-old Danielle LeGrande called the El Paso County Regional Communications Center, stating people were following her and trying to kill her. During the call, LeGrande made several incoherent statements before abruptly ending the call.

Shortly thereafter, a family member contacted dispatch after learning of LeGrande’s 9-1-1 call through a shared location phone application. The relative told deputies LeGrande was the subject of an involuntary missing person alert.

The Tecumseh Police Department in Oklahoma confirmed LeGrande was the subject of a missing person alert, and she was traveling with three children who were all listed as missing and endangered.

Sheriff’s Office dispatchers coordinated efforts to track LeGrande’s location with the family member while deputies searched for LeGrande at her last known location in Cascade, Colorado, an unincorporated area of El Paso County. Deputies received information LeGrande was in the city of Colorado Springs, where deputies ultimately located LeGrande, an adult male, and three children.

Everyone involved was found safe and unharmed.

Danielle LeGrande was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation and later booked into the El Paso County Jail on a no-bond warrant from Oklahoma (Tecumseh Police Department) related to this incident.

One of the children was released to their father at the scene. The other two children were taken to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, where they were placed in the care of the Department of Human Services.
