The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the Second Annual Guns & Hoses City Slickers Rodeo raised $40,463.14 for local nonprofit organizations, surpassing last year’s charitable contribution and continuing a growing tradition of supporting organizations serving first responders, military members, and the Pikes Peak region.
Held earlier this summer, the 2026 event welcomed approximately 3,000 attendees and brought together law enforcement, firefighters, first responders, military members, local businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and community members for a day of friendly competition and fundraising.
Through the generosity of sponsors, participants, volunteers, and attendees, the event generated $77,698.68 in revenue and donations.
After operating expenses, $40,463.14 will be distributed among three beneficiary organizations:
- Colorado Springs Firefighters Foundation: $16,705.26
- Pikes Peak Law Enforcement Memorial Fund: $12,844.21
- Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Foundation: $10,913.67
The charitable distribution reflects both fundraising efforts by participating teams and an equal share of the remaining event proceeds, ensuring each organization receives meaningful support.
“This event represents what can be accomplished when our first responders, military partners, local businesses, and community come together for a common purpose,” said Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “Two years ago, this event began as an idea from a group of my Mounted Unit deputies who wanted to create something meaningful for our community. Seeing their vision grow into an event raising more than $40,000 for local charities makes me incredibly proud. Every sponsor, volunteer, competitor, and attendee played a role in making a lasting impact for organizations serving those who dedicate their lives to others. This event has become more than a rodeo—it is a testament to what can be accomplished when people unite in service of others. I am grateful for everyone’s support and look forward to building on this success in the years ahead.”
The inaugural Guns & Hoses City Slickers Rodeo raised $35,918.40 in 2025. Combined with this year’s contribution, the event has now donated $76,381.54 to local nonprofit organizations during its first two years.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office extends its sincere appreciation to the sponsors, volunteers, vendors, participants, and community members whose generosity made the event possible. Planning is already underway for the 2027 Guns & Hoses City Slickers Rodeo as organizers continue building one of the Pikes Peak region’s premier charitable fundraising events.
