On September 26, 2026, at approximately 8:20 AM, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Communications Center received a call reporting a possible domestic violence incident, and the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Sheriff’s Office Patrol deputies responded to the 1200 block of Cree Drive located in the Cimarron Hills area of unincorporated El Paso County. Deputies learned the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Andrew Lazcano, had left the residence and was possibly armed with a firearm.
Assistance was requested from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Impact Team (FIT), a Drone as a First Responder (DFR), and an available Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) K9. Drone surveillance located Lazcano fleeing on foot. CSPD K9 Koa began tracking the suspect and was able to locate him hiding in a field.
During this time CSPD’s K9 Koa and EPSO’s FIT apprehended Lazcano without incident. No weapon was located during Lazcano’s arrest.
Lazcano was booked into the El Paso County Jail on numerous charges including:
∙Parole Violation
∙Second Degree Assault

∙Third Degree Criminal Trespass
∙ Harassment
Lazcano is currently being held without bond as determined by statutory guidelines.
“Deputies are working diligently to respond to calls for service and to secure the arrest of dangerous domestic violence offenders within the Pikes Peak region,” said El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “My deputies and drone operators are partnering with local law enforcement agencies to make our communities safer. I want to thank the Colorado Springs Police Department, and K9 Koa for their assistance during this incident.”
