Deputies Seek Community Assistance in Burglary, Motor Vehicle Theft Investigation

On August 22, 2026, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Communications Center received a report of a burglary at a residence in the 17900 block of Red Rocks Drive in the Monument area of unincorporated El Paso County.

The reporting party stated they observed two individuals, a male and female, attempting to open doors and windows of the residence. The individuals gained entry to the home. Shortly after entering, the suspects exited the residence and stole a red 2001 Toyota Tundra parked in the driveway. The vehicle bears Colorado license plate 740YTI.

Patrol deputies responded and determined the suspects had found the vehicle keys while inside the residence.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents in the area of Red Rocks Drive to review any surveillance, doorbell, or Ring camera footage captured between 5 AM and 5:30 AM on August 22, 2026.
