Recently, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office partnered with TESSA to support domestic violence survivors throughout the Pikes Peak region, donating $4206.48 raised through the sale of purple awareness patches and keychains.
“Domestic violence impacts individuals, families, and communities throughout our region. As a law enforcement agency, we see the devastating effects of abuse and understand the importance of supporting survivors, connecting victims with resources, and holding offenders accountable,” said El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “We are proud to partner with TESSA and contribute $4206.48 toward its work supporting survivors. This effort represents our commitment to standing alongside victims, strengthening community partnerships, and helping ensure those experiencing abuse know they are not alone.”
Anne Markley, Chief Executive Officer of TESSA, highlighted the importance of community partnerships in providing support and resources to survivors: “Community partnerships like this make a real difference in the lives of survivors of domestic violence. We are grateful to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and everyone who purchased a purple awareness patch or keychain to support this effort. Every contribution helps TESSA provide critical services, advocacy, and resources to individuals and families impacted by abuse. Together, we can strengthen our community’s response to domestic violence and help survivors find safety, support, and hope for the future.”
Purple is recognized nationally as the color of domestic violence awareness, symbolizing support for survivors and a commitment to ending abuse. Through this initiative, the Sheriff’s Office hopes to encourage continued community involvement and remind survivors that help and support are available.
TESSA provides services and advocacy for individuals impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault in the Pikes Peak region. Its work helps survivors pursue safety, healing, and long-term stability for themselves and their families.
The partnership reflects Sheriff Roybal’s continued commitment to reducing victims, holding criminals accountable, and connecting individuals with resources to help them move forward safely.
