Michelle Court Officer Involved Shooting Update

On Monday, June 23, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department’s 911 Communications Center received reports of shots fired in the 1400 block of Michelle Court.

Responding officers located an adult male at the scene armed with a firearm. Officers gave verbal commands for the individual to drop the weapon. The suspect raised the firearm and fired at least one round toward the officers. In response, two officers fired at least one round, striking the suspect.

The suspect, identified as 51-year-old Jesus Ramirez Jr., was pronounced deceased at the scene. The El Paso County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.

No officers or members of the public were injured during the incident. Per department policy, the officers involved have been placed on paid administrative leave.

As required by Colorado state law, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is the lead investigative agency in this officer-involved shooting. The investigation remains active, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
