On Saturday, August 1, 2026, at approximately 12:35 AM, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Regional Communications Center received a report of an armed robbery in the area of Drury Lane and De La Vista Street in the Security-Widefield area of unincorporated El Paso County.
The reporting party told dispatchers an individual known to them, identified as 28-year-old Jacob Anderson, had robbed them and another victim at gunpoint and struck one of the victims with the firearm.
Deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Fountain Police Department responded and learned the victims had driven to a residence in the 300 block of De La Vista Street after receiving a text message from a friend, a 16-year-old juvenile, requesting a ride home.
According to the victims, when they arrived at the residence, Anderson exited the home armed with a firearm and told them the juvenile would not be leaving. Anderson then allegedly stole the victims’ personal property before striking one of the victims with the firearm.
Deputies and officers attempted to make contact at the residence. After speaking with the homeowner, two adults exited the residence and confirmed Anderson lived there.
During the investigation, the victims reported the 16-year-old had been sexually assaulted by Anderson. Due to immediate concerns for the juvenile’s safety, investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence. Members of the Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and Investigations Division responded to assist.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team searched the residence but did not locate Anderson or the juvenile. Deputies conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area while investigators continued interviewing witnesses and pursuing investigative leads.
Following extensive effort and assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Colorado Springs Police Department, both Anderson and the juvenile were located at an apartment in the 3000 block of Airport Road, at approximately 6:47 PM.
Anderson was taken into custody without incident.

We remain committed to holding violent offenders accountable while ensuring victims receive the protection and support they deserve.”
Jacob Anderson was transported to the El Paso County Jail, where he was booked on the following charges:
- Aggravated Robbery
- Menacing – Real or Simulated Weapon
- Second-Degree Assault
- Sexual Assault
He was released on August 3, 2026, after posting a $15,000 bond.
