El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Receives Western Street Breakfast Commemorative Token

This morning at the Pioneers Museum in downtown Colorado Springs, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Jeremy Juhl, who leads the Mounted Unit, accepted a commemorative token on behalf of Sheriff Joseph Roybal.

The token was presented by members of the Western Street Breakfast committee as part of a cherished local tradition.

The token ceremony signals the official kickoff of the event season, including the Guns and Hoses City Slicker Rodeo, Western Street Breakfast, and the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo. The Sheriff’s Mounted Unit will actively participate in all three events, always presenting the Colors during the National Anthem and leading the cowboy procession through downtown Colorado Springs.

Additionally, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has sponsored two teams for the Guns and Hoses City Slicker Rodeo.

“It’s an exciting time of year for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “Our team remains committed to preserving Western traditions, and the Western Street Breakfast allows us to reflect that commitment proudly.”

“I encourage everyone across El Paso County to attend these patriotic, family-focused events. Say hello to our deputies and newly sworn posse members—you’ll recognize them by their cowboy hats. We value every chance to strengthen our ties within the community.”

The Western Street Breakfast will take place on June 18. Event details and ticket information are available online.

The inaugural Guns & Hoses City Slicker Rodeo is set for June 28 and will raise funds for local first responders and military personnel.
