Domestic Violence Suspect Arrested After Standoff on Robinson Street

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at approximately 11:03 PM, Patrol deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2700 block of Robinson Street in unincorporated El Paso County, regarding a domestic violence incident in progress.

The reporting party stated their ex-boyfriend, identified as 34-year-old Justin Aragon, had arrived at their residence, broken a window, and assaulted them. The victim further reported Aragon retrieved a knife, pointed it at her children, and threatened to fight them.

Upon arrival, deputies determined Aragon had positioned himself underneath the residence. Despite repeated commands, however, Aragon refused to comply and exit.

A (less lethal) pepper ball round was deployed, which struck Aragon in the shin. Aragon then forced his way out from under the trailer and became verbally aggressive toward deputies.

Despite his combative behavior, deputies were able to safely take Aragon into custody without injury to either the deputies or the residents.

Justin Aragon was booked into the El Paso County Jail on the following charges:

-Second Degree Assault

-Menacing

-Third Degree Assault

-Harassment

-Violation of a Restraining Order

-Child Abuse

– and Resisting Arrest

He is currently being held on a $125,000 bond.

El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal stated, “Domestic violence is a serious crime which threatens the safety of families and our neighborhoods. I commend my Patrol deputies for their professionalism in handling a dangerous and volatile situation with restraint. Their actions ensured this suspect was taken into custody safely while protecting the victims and our community.”
