El Paso County Sheriff’s Statement Commemorating Veterans Day 2025

El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal issued the following statement to commemorate Veterans Day, 2025:

“Today, we pause to honor the men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform and defended the freedoms Americans hold dear.

“Approximately 95,000 veterans and their loved ones call El Paso County home—one of the largest military communities in our nation. It is a profound honor to serve and protect them after they have served and protected us.

“Their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to duty remind us why America remains the greatest nation on earth—built on freedom, opportunity, and the enduring spirit of those willing to stand in its defense. It is why they put on a uniform, and why we put on a badge.

“To the veterans who now serve within the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office—sworn, professional staff, and volunteers—thank you. Your continued dedication to duty and community is an inspiration to all who work beside you.

“On behalf of the entire El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, I extend my deepest gratitude to every veteran for your service, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to our nation.”
